Mechanical Artist Man, I am a real artist in my work. In my month here, I have created an entire microscope in the computer. Lots of others did work on it before I got here, but I put it all together. Carefully crafted each part. Checked and rechecked to make sure all the parts would work together, gave it style, gave it life. Now Hundreds of thousands of dollars will be spent buying molds and castings, plastic parts and machined parts. Hundreds of people here will have work making what I have created. Even after I am dead, people will still have the microscope I created in their cabinets. Students will learn science on them. Grade school kids will see their first microscopic amoeba on one of these. We are also working on getting the manufacturing kinks out of the Leica microscope I designed that is made here. I walk through the machine shop and it is my prints hanging on the wall. Things that were just images in a computer in Buffalo are now hard metal parts that I can touch and love.
